The Adult Care and Community Wellbeing Directorate Lincolnshire County Council have commissioned a rolling programme of training since 2018 in partnership with our Public Health colleagues. It aims to support resilience and wellbeing and is designed to provide staff with strategies to support them to manage the demands of their busy work life, whilst advocating positive changes to their lifestyles to support physical and mental wellbeing. This training has been provided by Rachel Munns (Resilient Me) since 2018.
Rachel was commissioned to provide a programme for the financial year 20-21 for access by all staff in the Adult Care and Wellbeing Directorate. Rachel's delivery was dependent on face to face and as a result of lock down and home working we have not been able to move forward with the original commission.
We recognised that staff are under increased demands due to the pandemic and supporting resilience and wellbeing has never been more important. In order to ensure a prompt response to our concerns for staff wellbeing we approached Rachel to see if it would be possible for her to change her method of delivery to a virtual platform. Rachel who had initially furloughed rose to the challenge and has worked in partnership with us to put together a bespoke programme of initially four separate modules that are being delivered virtually. The content reflects the original material with specific additions to support staff with current working challenges.
The commission has now been adopted corporately. With the addition of specific modules for managers the programme has been made available for all staff working for Lincolnshire County Council. Rachel is knowledgeable and has bought her expertise to the development of the programme. Rachel's delivery is engaging and upbeat and has been very well received by staff who have attended.
